Together with Amsterdam-based quality imprint Field Records we present ‘Surroundings’ in the second room of Radion on Saturday May 16. For this line-up the DJs and producers are known for their quality techno sets – like the ones they played at Radion during ADE2014 – but they’ll surprise the audience with a different kind of ‘deep’ listening experience. Field Records label associates G-String, Cyspe and AHPR will bring back the ‘chill-out’ room anno 2015 and showcase exquisite chill-out cuts, as well as the more experimental sides of techno-aesthetics and the electronic music spectrum. We really advise you to take this trip.
Field Records is already known for their deep, Detroit-inspired electronic music with high-class contributions from various artists. Built on minimalism and modesty, the boutique label has expanded into a consortium for quality since first emerging in 2008. Artists such as Artefakt, Delta Funktionen, Cyspe, Crystal Maze and many other assured talents all previously appeared on the label with sounds that range from deep and classic house to more rough-edged and raw techno.
Amsterdam’s G String is one of the most respected underground DJs in Holland, known for his excellent & versatile DJ performances in which he blends a highly seductive mix of both classic and contemporary house, deep techno, italo and disco as well as more experimental electronics.
Cyspe is the Amsterdam based producer, DJ and sound artist Robin Koek. Devoted listeners of Field Records releases and regulars of atmospheric techno-nights might already know Robin’s sound as one half of the duo Artefakt. With Cyspe, Koek takes his sound into another direction; his fascination for architecture and cybernetica forms the basis of his sonic output.
What better way to start our Field Records collaboration night with none other than label director Arjan Rietveld as AHPR. We’re very pleased to have him open the second room at Radion and translate his idea of the festival theme The Subterranean into a sonic journey.
