Are you a coder for web, installations, music, visuals, games or … well .. anything? Not a coder, but interested in the creative process behind digital art projects? We’re calling you to participate within the Creative Coding Amsterdam meetup for an informal and inspiring day of creation on Friday 15/06 at A Lab. Share your work, exchange code and create prototypes on the fly. Best of all, learn from the local community and contribute yourself.
The Creative Coding Amsterdam Meetup was started at the beginning of this year by Lisa Rombout and Sabrina Verhagen. Both creative developers have a broad background in coding platforms and an international network of code artists. Traveling between Belgrade (Resonate festival), Berlin (Retune Conference) and Amsterdam (FITC), the girls felt it was time to set up a creative coding meetup in Amsterdam, like the Creative Code Stammtisch meetings by our Berlin friends Rachel Uwe and Raphaël de Courville (e.o). Of course Amsterdam already had a rich history of meetups going back to 2006, but nowadays a new wave of meetups are popping up.
CCA is for everyone interested in all creative aspects of computer programming. It is a place to meet for beginners as well as advanced users, for professionals as well as people coding just for fun. They are informal events where you can meet up with other creative coding enthusiasts, show your work and learn about their work. For the FIBER Festival a code jam will commence with the topic: what inhabits The Subterranean?
The CCA is open and free for everyone. Bring your computer and power-sockets, and we’ll arrange a space for you.
