Symposium — Location: Volkshotel Sat 16 May, 10.00 - 18.00 hrs

Julian Adenauer DE
/ artist-talk

Adenauer will talk about the use of generative, computational and mechanical systems to create art and design projects, in relation to the symposium’s fourth block called ‘An Artwork Born from Infrastructure’.

Date: 16 May
Location: Volkshotel
Time: 10.00 – 18.00 hrs

In his work he explores how a system is able to function as a medium that creates an unpredictable artwork. The work ‘Emerging Colorspace’, which is also part of our exhibition, is part of a long tradition of creating art by rulesets, since the artist doesn’t know the outcome of the process in advance.

Julian Adenauer is a technologist and creative engineer based in Berlin. He is interested in the intersection of art, design, technology and culture. He examines emerging technologies and their impact on society and creative expression. Since 2009 he’s been one half of the artist/inventor duo Sonice Development. In 2012 he co-founded retune. – a platform at the intersection of art and technology with an annual festival at its core. He works as a freelancer in a variety of constellations: as realizer of artworks, organizer of events, workshop leader and consultant.
