She has enjoyed considerable success across five continents, with her works having been featured at, amongst others, FILE São Paulo, MOTA Museum of Transitory Art Ljubljana, and Garage Moscow. At the symposium, she will explain how works between bits and atoms, such as ‘ADA’, ‘SIMULACRA’ (presented at the festival exhibition) or ‘ALIAS’ have come to existence, what her inspirations are and what her working methods are in general.
Biography
Karina Smigla-Bobinski lives and works as a freelance artist in Munich and Berlin. She studied art and visual communication at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, Poland and Munich, Germany. She works as intermedia artist with analogue and digital media. She produces and collaborates on projects ranging from kinetic sculptures, interactive installations, art interventions, featuring mixed reality and interactive art objects, and also works in video, multimedia theatre performances and online projects.
